Frequently asked questions concerning annulmentguide lines and state of texas annulment laws, Dallas attorney, Shelly B. West.

Annulment Guide Lines

Question: How long does an annulment take?

Answer: The process to seek an annulment is in the form of a lawsuit. The vast majority of annulments are agreed between the parties. There is no waiting period like a divorce. In theory, you can file an annulment one day and file the agreed annulment order the next day. The fastest annulment in this office was two weeks from start to finish.

If the annulment is not agreed, then it is a contested matter just like any other lawsuit. In that case, the annulment would be over when the case comes to trial, which can take months, depending on the court's schedule.
